Concept Modeller is software for implementing knowledge-basedengineering. Knowledge bases contain rules and relationships for productdesign that can be built-up and changed over time. Concept Modellerenables designers to capture product and process definitions in a single,persistent, object-oriented structure while completely preserving thedesign intent. The concepts of simultaneous engineering can be automatedusing the software tools provided by Concept Modeller. Designs can becreated automatically, taking into account manufacturing, assembly,marketing, quality, standards, tolerancing, inspection, and financialconsiderations. Concept Modeller integrates with CAD/CAM systems tocreate geometry from geometric and nongeometric design data. The benefitsof using Concept Modeller are reduced costs, improved quality, and moresatisfied customers.
